Koolat Safety Construction Training Specialist offer many short courses including:
1CPCCOHS1001A – Work safely in the construction industry (white card)
This course provides new building and construction industry participants with the introductory understanding and knowledge needed to commence or continue work in the building and construction industry. Koolat Safety has adopted a similar delivery format for general construction induction as a number of other RTO’s and now utilises a self paced learning strategy at our premises. This course is available Monday – Friday. Please indicate your preferred times when booking online. Face to Face delivery is available for group bookings.
2RIIOHS202A – Enter and work in confined spaces
Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely enter and work in confined spaces as per the National Training Package RII09 Resources and Infrastructure and meets the requirements of AS2865-2009. This course will also provide participants with information relative to Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice for confined spaces. A nationally recognised competency is awarded on successful completion of this course.
3RIIOHS204A – Work safely at heights
The course provides students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required to support site-specific training in Work Safely at Heights RIIOHS204A. A nationally recognised competency is awarded on successful completion of this course (RIIOHS204A)
4RIIHAN301A – Operate elevating work platform - (under 11 metres)
This one-day ewp training program focuses primarily on the construction, mining, manufacturing and related industries, where staff need to have the correct training to operate elevating work platforms and it covers the safe operation of elevated work platforms (EWP) under 11 metres. It is nationally recognised by industry and exceeds the requirements of the YELLOW CARD.
5WP – Operate a boom type elevating work platform (over 11 metres)
Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely operate an elevating work platform (over 11 metres).
6RIIOHS205A - Control traffic with stop-slow bat (traffic controller – QLD)
This training course has been designed by the Queensland Government Department of Main Roads in order to accredit individuals with the skills and knowledge required to become a Traffic Controller in Queensland. This course is delivered by Koolat Safety who is an Accredited Traffic Control Training Provider. On successful completion of this course and issuing of the Traffic Controller Licence from Queensland Transport, participants may then gain employment in the Traffic Management Industry. On successful completion of this program and on approval of application to Queensland Transport, the trainee will be able to control traffic on a road way using a Stop/Slow bat in accordance with legislative requirements and guidelines set out in the M.U.T.C.D Part 3.
7RIIOHS205A - Control traffic with stop-slow bat (traffic controller - QLD - refresher course)
The refresher program will provide the trainee with updated information related to amendments to the legislative requirements and guidelines of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management – Accreditation and other provisions) Regulation 2005. This training course has been designed by the Queensland Government Department of Main Roads in order to refresh individuals with the skills and knowledge required to maintain their accreditation as a Traffic Controller in Queensland. This course is delivered by Koolat Safety who is an Accredited Traffic Control Training Provider.
8Traffic management level 1 – signage awareness
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of the minimum standard of signage as per the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) part 3 works on roads.
9Traffic management level 2 - Implement traffic management plans
This course is designed to assist individuals meet the minimum requirements needed to demonstrate competence against 30864QLD Implement Traffic Guidance Schemes. Upon completion of traffic management Level 2 theory, candidates are issued with a Statement of Attendance.
10Traffic management level 2 - Implement traffic management plans (refresher course)
This course is designed to assist individuals when updating their qualification and being reassessed to meet the minimum requirements needed to demonstrate competence against 30864QLD Implement Traffic Guidance Schemes. Upon completion of traffic management Level 2 theory, candidates are issued with a Statement of Attendance.
11LF - Operate a forklift truck (non-experienced operators)
Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with previous forklift truck experience with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely operate a forklift truck (LF).
12LF - Operate a forklift truck (with prior operator experience)
Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides non-experienced participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely operate a forklift truck (LF).
Koolat Safety offers a short course in the safe operation of small power tools. We can adapt this course to suit the variety of tools that are used in your workplace. These tools include, power drills, circular saws, drop saws and grinders. This course will provide an understanding of the potential hazards associated with the use of hand tools and power tools as well as the safety precautions required to prevent those hazards from occurring. Power tool hazards are addressed by the power source used: pneumatic, liquid fuel, hydraulic, or powder-actuated. The content in this course is designed to comply with the intent of the applicable regulatory requirements.
