RII competencies inquiry form
NSW and Queensland regulatory bodies have ceased issuing licences for load-shifting and earthmoving equipment. This brings both these states into line with all other Australian states and territories that never had earthmoving licences prior to this new ruling. Koolat Safety will continue to offer earthmoving training & assessment tickets as usual and can issue a Unit of Competency after accredited training and successful completion of an assessment. This is the regulator’s preferred option to provide evidence of training having taken place for operators of earthmoving equipment.
RII is an acronym for the Resources and Infrastructure Industry. The term covers mining (resources) and infrastructure industry (civil building & construction). Koolat Safety offer the earthmoving tickets listed below.
- RIIMPO319A Conduct backhoe/loader operations (LB)
- RIIMPO323A Conduct civil construction dozer operations (LZ)
- RIIMPO320A Conduct civil construction excavator operations (LE)
- RIIMPO321B Conduct civil construction wheeled loader operations (LL)
- RIIMPO322A Conduct civil construction tracked front end loader operations (LL)
- RIIMPO324A Conduct civil construction grader operations (LG)

These units of competency are from a National Training Package and as such are recognised nationally. The unit of competency can only be issued once a worker can demonstrate that he or she can competently operate a given piece of plant or machinery.
