Course Description:

This course is for Licenced Advanced Scaffolders and Licenced Advanced Riggers who erect/install swing stage scaffolds. The Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009 (Workplace Health and Safety Queensland), released in July 2009, specifies mandatory training and assessment requirements for installers of swing stage scaffolds. The Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009 establishes specific implied licence training requirements for installers of swing stage scaffolds. This course will be recognised as the only course that meets the implied licensing requirements.

    • The Code must be followed by persons erecting, modifying, dismantling or using any scaffolding
    • The Code provides that any person who is erecting or installing suspended scaffold must have undertaken the course in the Safe Erection/Installation of Swing Stage Scaffolds (30825QLD) and that a user of the swing stage must have undertaken the course in the Safe Use of Swing Stage Scaffolds (30826QLD)
    • This training has been developed and available to industry, it must be undertaken as soon as possible

    The candidates:

    • must hold a Licence as an Advanced Scaffolder
    • and/or Licence as an Advanced Rigger as a pre-requisite before they can participate in this course.

    Koolat Safety places a pre-requisite that the:

    • candidate holds a nationally recognised “Work safely at heights” unit of competency from a National Training Package.

    The participant needs to be able to work at height and perform physical tasks.

    The participants must also hold a current certificate of competency in Advanced Scaffolding or Rigging.

    Students are to wear Steel Cap Boots and appropriate PPE

    Students must also bring;

    • hard hat and safety vest.
    • Drivers Licence or Passport (required for course registration).

    Important Information:

    • Students should have basic reading and writing skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs)
