Course Description:

This unit is part of competency covers the functions required to operate material hoists to meet minimum training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification. This unit has been developed in accordance with the licensing and assessment requirements of NOHSC: 1006 [2001].

This unit involves assessing, securing equipment and work area and operating hoists.

  • Cantilevered Platform Hoists set up

    The training of this course covers the basic application required for the safe operation of a Materials  Hoist (HM)

    Successful applicant will be issued with an assessment summary and statement of attainment

    Both documents have to be lodged in person with Australia Post in Queensland together with a licence application within a set time frame

    • A processing fee of $74.00 will be charged by Australia Post QLD

    Participants are advised to hold intermediate numeracy, literacy and communication skills to read and comprehend written instructions and must be at least 18 years of age

    The participant needs to be able to work at height and perform physical tasks

    Students are to wear Steel Cap Safety Boots and appropriate PPE

    Students must also bring;

    • Hard hat and safety vest
    • Drivers Licence or Passport (required for course registration)

    Important Information:

    • Students should have basic reading and writing skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs)
    • Payment is required prior to the course commencing please contact us for details. EFTPOS facilities are available at our office
