This course will provide the trainee with additional insight and development in the areas of:

  • Gin Poles and Derricks
  • Flying Foxes
  • Suspended Scaffolds
  • Span Ropes
  • Fabricates hung scaffold

    This course is designed to provide trainees with the structured training component that, in conjunction with sufficient verifiable practical experience, will prepare students for assessment in the prescribed occupation of advanced rigging (Licence code RA).

    • Participants are advised to hold intermediate numeracy, literacy and communication skills to read and comprehend written instructions
    • Students are not required to be 18 years of age to undertake this course. HOWEVER, the student must be 18 years of age to be a licenced Rigger
    • The participant needs to be able to work at height and perform physical tasks
    • The trainee rigger must hold a current certificate of competency in Dogging, Rigger Basic and Intermediate. They must also be proficient in all aspects of dogging, as per the dogging assessment instrument. That is, the trainee rigger must know all the doggers fomulas, know how to splice, know the hitches and bends required of a dogger and be proficient with ALL the whistle signals
    • Students are to wear closed in STEEL CAP SAFETY BOOTS
    • Students must have a basic understanding of mathematics (must be able to work out formulas for loads and safe working loads of steel wire rope, synthetic rope and chains)

    Students must also bring;

    • Hard hat and safety vest
    • Drivers Licence or Passport (required for course registration)
    • Potential crane operators should have a dogging licence before attempting to obtain crane licences
    Important Information:
    • Students should have basic reading and writing skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs)
    • Payment is required prior to the course commencing please contact us for details. EFTPOS facilities are available at our office
