Outline of course:
This course comprises one unit of competency. This is an accredited course that is recognised by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. The Registered Training Organisation will issue participants with a Statement of Attainment when they have successfully demonstrated the required competencies.
The nominal duration of this course is 20 hours. This will normally be conducted over three consecutive days at the RTO training rooms.
Licensing regulatory requirements:
Please note you will not be able to be issued with a Demolisher Certificate of Competency as WHSQ no longer issues a Demolisher Certificate of Competency to individuals.
The certificates are now issued to the business undertaking the demolition work. The business holding either of these certificates must ensure demolition work is directly supervised by a competent person.

This course is available to participants wishing to be a competent person supervising demolition work. As this course forms only 1 of the components needed this download has a full description of all the necessary requirements.
- Ability to read and understand texts that contain several complex or ambiguous ideas
- Ability to write text beyond everyday context – memos, minutes, changes in routine
- Ability to use a range of algebraic formulae and calculating tools to solve work-based problems –measure 2 or 3 dimensional shapes, square root functions
- Ability to participate in oral exchanges that require control of non-routine language and structure –present changes in workplace practices to colleagues.
All students are requested to undertake a short self-assessment and testing process to identify language, literacy and numeracy skills. It is important that students who require additional support are clearly identified at the beginning of the training process. Trainers and assessors can provide additional support in specific areas, such as numeracy, that apply specifically to demolition.

- Students should have basic reading and writing skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs)
