These 2 nationally endorsed units of competency have been clustered into one course to provide participants with industry standard knowledge and skills to safely work in confined spaces and use breathing apparatus.
Enter and work in a confined space complies with AS2865-2009.
A statement of attainment will be issued on successful completion and is a pathway to a qualification.
Refresher Training:
There is no legislative requirement for refresher training for any units of competency from National Training Packages. It is suggested that refresher training could be conducted every 3 years. This refresher training is at the discretion of the employer.

Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely work in Confined Spaces as per the National Training Package RII09 Resources and Infrastructure and meets the requirements of AS2865-2009. This course will also provide participants with information relative to Legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice for Confined Spaces. This unit is appropriate for those working in confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections and also is appropriate for those performing sentry or stand-by person roles, at worksites within:
- Civil construction
- Coal mining
- Drilling
- Extractive industries
- Metalliferous mining
- NIL Prerequisites
Important Information:
- Students should have basic reading and writing skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs)
