What to expect from this training:

This unit of competency covers the functions required to operate concrete placing booms to meet minimum training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification. This unit has been developed in accordance with the licensing and assessment rrequiremnts of NOHSC:1006 [2001].

This unit involves assessing and securing equipment and work area, pumping concrete and setting up and dismantling boom.

    Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely operate a concrete placing boom.

    • Participants are advised to hold intermediate numeracy, literacy and communication skills to read and comprehend written instructions and must be at least 18 years of age
    • Students are to wear closed in shoes (steel caps)

    Students must also bring;

    • Hard hat, safety vest and equipment
    • Koolat Safety can provide Safety equipment upon request

    • Students must  bring photo identification (such as a passport or drivers licence) to register for this course

    Important Information:

    • Students should have basic reading and writing skills (to be able to identify and interpret workplace signs)
