Construction Skills Queensland
Construction Skills Queensland provides a range of services to employers, job seekers and workers in the building and construction industry. It acts as a single point of contact to help attract, recruit, train and retain workers, therefore ensuring a sustainable workforce with the rights skills in the right place at the right time.
Services include information on careers, access to financial incentives, information on training available to new and existing workers in the industry, access to potential employers and other advice.
BERT Training Queensland
BERT Training Queensland is a joint Union and Employer initiative which provides workers and employers with funding and assistance to improve their skills.
BERT Training Queensland (BTQ) assists in the training of workers throughout the Queensland building and construction industry. Through skills training, workers covered by the Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT) can increase their skills, knowledge and expertise. This leads to better employment options, higher wages and a more productive industry.
Skilling Solutions Queensland
Skilling Solutions Queensland is the Queensland Government’s free training and career information service. A one-stop-shop for all your training and career solutions!
Skilling Solutions Queensland’s trained consultants can identify how your existing skills could be formally recognised towards a relevant qualification. They can then refer you to a network of contracted training organisations to undertake a formal assessment of your skills against the chosen qualification.
The process is called recognition of prior learning, it’s all about recognising the skills that you already have and obtaining a qualification in less time and at a reduced cost!
AND, as a customer of Skilling Solutions Queensland, you may be eligible for a subsidy of up to $1000, depending on the qualification.
User Choice
The User Choice program provides public funding for the delivery of accredited, entry-level training to apprentices and trainees.
The program works in conjunction with the Commonwealth Australian Apprenticeships System, under which apprentices and trainees (also known in some jurisdictions as “Australian Apprentices”) enter into legally binding training contracts with their employers and receive structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
The Queensland User Choice program enables apprentices, trainees and their employers to select a preferred Registered Training Organisation (RTO) such as Koolat Safety from a list of Pre-qualified Suppliers for the delivery of accredited training to meet their specific needs.
Pre-qualified Suppliers can claim payment from the Department of Education and Training for training delivered to eligible apprentices and trainees.
